ICT POLICY STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT WORKSHOP

As many of you are aware, the Anambra State ICT Agency has been working diligently on crafting a State ICT Policy Framework that aligns with our vision of ‘Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere’ in Anambra. The primary objective of this workshop was to harness the collective expertise and insights of stakeholders within the technology ecosystem. Your invaluable contributions aim to shape a comprehensive State ICT Policy Framework that will guide the implementation of our technology-focused agenda. To ensure maximum participation and inclusivity, we arranged for a hybrid session, allowing stakeholders to engage both physically and virtually. 

AI4MEDIA TRAINING

The Anambra State ICT Agency, in collaboration with Activ8 Hub, on Thursday, hosted a workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Journalism for media professionals. The workshop took the practitioners through emerging AI models, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Bing AI, Microsoft Copilot, among others, with the aim of enhancing their journalistic practice. With a focus on leveraging AI to bolster productivity, fact-checking, and narrative crafting, the session illuminated the path for journalists to integrate these cutting-edge tools into their work responsibly.

ASPHCDA

I am pleased to share with you an important update regarding the distribution of digital work tools to the Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA).Under the visionary leadership of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, our state is committed to embarking on a transformative journey towards becoming a smart and livable megacity. The recent distribution of these digital work tools is a pivotal step in realizing this vision. Previously, we successfully distributed 200 laptops and PCs to various government departments and agencies. The impact of these tools on enhancing the efficiency and productivity of our state’s workforce has been truly remarkable.

CATHOLIC BISHOP ENGAGEMENT AT ONITSHA

On my participation in the Communications Week seminar series organized by the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha. The seminar, held under the theme “Speaking with the heart in truth and love,” focused on the intersection of technology and the church in today’s dynamic landscape. The seminar aimed to explore the potential synergies between technology and the church, emphasizing opportunities for improved communication and enhanced productivity within the congregation. In my capacity as the Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, I had the privilege of delivering a speech during the seminar.

CBT EXAMS

On Friday, a significant milestone was marked in the realm of local government administration in Anambra State. This report aims to capture the key highlights of the first-ever computer-based promotion examination for local government workers across our state.The strategic partnership between the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) and the Anambra State ICT Agency led to the successful execution of this groundbreaking initiative. It is worth noting that this partnership was driven by a shared commitment to modernize and streamline the processes within the LGSC.

E-ID Card Launch

I am delighted to share with you a significant milestone in the advancement of identity management in Anambra State. Under the visionary leadership of Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, the Anambra State Government has successfully launched the eagerly awaited E-ID Card. As someone deeply committed to the progress of technology and its applications for societal development.
The E-ID Card is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at modernizing identity management within the State civil service. It boasts robust security features, including biometric authentication, encryption, and other cutting-edge digital elements. 

HOS TRAINING

Anambra State is one of the leading states in Nigeria committed to leveraging technology to enhance the lives of its citizens and streamline government operations. Our approach includes the adoption of Microsoft Office 365, a suite of cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools. The adoption of Microsoft Office 365 represents a significant milestone in our digital transformation journey. This suite of cloud-based applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, empowers our civil servants to work more efficiently and collaboratively. 

LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION

My heartfelt commendation to Governor Chukwuma C. Soludo for his visionary efforts to advance the digital capabilities of the civil service in Anambra State. His recent initiative to distribute laptops and desktops to civil servants is a significant step towards enhancing efficiency and public service delivery. Governor Soludo’s commitment to the adoption of ICTs in the civil service is laudable, as it not only increases productivity but also fosters transparency and trust between the government and the governed. 

STRATEGIC MEETINGS

In line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to make Anambra a technologically vibrant state, the ICT Agency has taken significant steps to propel this vision forward. Recently, we initiated discussions with the Tony Blair Institute, a renowned organization with a proven track record of driving digital transformation in developing and emerging states.
Prior to formalizing this collaboration, the Department of Strategy Execution and Evaluation (SEE), responsible for monitoring and evaluating state projects, engaged with the ICT Agency. 

TECH REVAMP.

The Anambra State Tech Revamp initiative was launched under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Charles Soludo, who envisions a future where technology plays a central role in every aspect of our state’s development. In line with this vision, I, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, was appointed as the Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, reaffirming the government’s commitment to technological advancement. The primary goal of the Anambra State Tech Revamp initiative is to foster a collaborative environment between the tech community, government project consultants, and businesses within the state. The one-day Technology Appreciation Workshop was organized for media practitioners in Anambra State.The workshop, a collaborative effort between the Anambra State ICT Agency, the State Ministry of Information, PA-CENT Technologies, and Bonitas Technologies, aimed to provide media professionals with comprehensive training on the latest technology tools and techniques to enhance their work processes.The primary objectives of the workshop were as follows:

This collaborative effort involves the Anambra State Ministry of Health, the Office of the Special Adviser on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, and the Anambra ICT Agency. Our goal is to deliver on your strategic objective of providing quality, affordable, and easily accessible healthcare to Ndi Anambra, regardless of their location.
Telemedicine, as you are aware, leverages technology to enable patients to consult with healthcare professionals remotely. It utilizes video calls, phone calls, and secure messaging platforms to bridge the gap between patients and healthcare providers.

WIKIMEDIA USER GROUP NIGERIA

The Anambra State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Agency and Wikimedia Foundation hosted a groundbreaking digital literacy training for civil society organizations in Anambra State
The event took place on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Anambra State ICT Agency headquarters in Awka.Participants will learn about the basics of digital literacy, including how to use computers, the internet, and social media effectively. They will also learn about digital safety and security.
