I have always been an advocate and supporter of Linkedin.com – the world’s number 1 professional network without doubt. I see them as a more sustainable social media network even though they are not as big as the biggest. :)
I have written a number of articles on why you should start taking Linkedin more seriously.

With just a little over 200 million members, why do I find Linkedin.com more attractive than facebook or twitter?
I’d tell you one simple reason which is what I have always said; Linkedin.com is a serious network where you can find and network with PROFESSIONALS. Yes! Every other network has professionals too but linkedin has carved a niche that gives it a somewhat serious outlook than others.
Recently, I received an email from linkedin:
Hi Chukwuemeka Fred,
Recently, LinkedIn reached a new milestone: 200 million members. But this isn’t just our achievement to celebrate — it’s also yours.
I want to personally thank you for being part of our community. Your journey is part of our journey, and we’re delighted and humbled when we hear stories of how our members are using LinkedIn to connect, learn, and find opportunity.
All of us come to work each day focused on our shared mission of connecting the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. We’re excited to show you what’s next.
With sincere thanks,

My goal is to share some of the linkedin success strategies that I have applied over the years that has helped me accomplish this feat.
Before I proceed let me inform you that come 2014 if Christ hasn’t returned, I have set a goal to be among the top 1% most viewed linkedin profiles.
Here are some LinkedIn Success Secrets you can apply:
1. Linkedin Personal Profile
The very first thing I plan to do which I am already doing is to improve Linkedin profile further. I have already achieved a 100% profile completion but I am currently adding more relevant content to my profile because linkedin is both a search engine and brand expansion tool as well.
Takeaway: Is your LinkedIn profile 100% complete? If no, then spend a few minutes/hours a day on Linkedin.com improving it. It is sure gonna help you somehow. You can start by friending me
2. LinkedIn Groups
I have already joined the most number of groups allowed for each Linkedin.com user, so what is left for me now is to spend a few hours a day on key groups via my mobile phone especially when I am on the move. This will help expose my brand the more.
I have also gone ahead to create 2 groups and I invite you to join us and participate:
Takeaway: Have you joined any group(s) on Linkedin? Remember, in those groups are prospective clients and partners.
3. LinkedIn Companies
Next strategy is to ensure that I follow relevant companies because this gives me the opportunity to connect with people having similar interests. When you follow a company on Linkedin you will be shown their updates on your feeds which brings the activities of the companies very close to you.
I have not stopped at following other companies but have created a company page for CFA Leverage so that we can be followed also :) please follow our page CFA Leverage too.
Takeaway: Have you followed relevant companies? Do you have a company page? What stops you from creating a company page right away?
4. Skills & Expertise
On linkedin you are allowed to enter up to 50 skills or any area(s) you consider yourself competent in. I carefully considered my strengths and came up with 50 skillls and expertise which I have added to my profile to make it both popular and search engine friendly.
Any wonder why I get a lot of views?
Takeaway: Have you added enough skills to get people to see you as the go-to expert in your field?
5. Connections
Have you explored the options of adding your connections i.e. using your email?
Yes, it is a great way to expose your brand and products. Trust me you must have communicated with over a 100 people or more through your email and they have all now become a part of your network and the only way to connect with them is to allow Linkedin.com do the job for you.
That’s it folks wish me luck as I set out on this journey to become among the top 1% most viewed linkedin profiles. I hope you would start taking Linkedin more seriously going forward?
